The China Has Arrived!

Thursday, November 11, 2010

The doorbell rang at 6 pm tonight and my miniature dachshund, Mini Pickles, sped to the door. Then it hit me, the china my mom sent me had arrived! Now I know I mentioned this in another post, but I didn't go into much detail. Allow me...

One day as I was browsing through some of my favorite wedding blogs I found pictures of mismatched and/or decorative place settings. I loved the idea but didn't want to get attached to it because renting or buying vintage china for hundreds of people could get really expensive. So sad because I really loved the look. Then it hit me! I can ask my mom to use her china (from 1960) and just set the head table. No renting and I can still achieve the look I love!

Here was my inspiration:

My mom was thrilled because someone was interested in her dishes :) I was thrilled because the colors and the pattern matched our wedding theme perfectly! This was definitely meant to be!

Okay, I can't lie to you guys, Mr. CF is not a big fan but he's going with it because he loves me!

I really think the table is going to look beautiful. I am planning on using a navy tablecloth with an antique lace overlay. Large white dinner plates will be used with the decorative accent plates on top. I will also be utilizing the teacups/saucers and the bread plates. The little birdie on the plate is going to love the flowery bird cage centerpieces, don't you think?! Here they are sitting on my dining room floor.

What personal touches are you adding (or did you add) to your tabletop?

Pretty Cush!

I'm pretty much in love with these linen & burlap pillows and want to find a way to incorporate them into our day! Bride & Groom's chairs maybe? Or, we can sit them on a bench in the English Garden! Let me know if you have any other ideas and check out Jolie Marche on Etsy.

Also, I want to share some exciting news with you...I found the perfect centerpieces!!! These birdcages paired with my milk glass vase collection are going to be gorgeous!!! I am so happy and have visions of them filled with floral arrangements, birds nests, and some vintage finds (maybe some old books like in the picture below)! Thank you Pottery Barn! Now all I have to do is scoop up about 10 of these babies!

What unique centerpieces did you use as decor at your reception?
