I Love Miranda and I Love Ruffles!

Sunday, January 23, 2011

I have a niece that is sweet, smart, funny, and absolutely beautiful! I am so excited that we selected her Junior Bridesmaid attire and even more excited that she is going to be a part of our big day! She is going to look amazing in her ruffle dress, ballet flats, and wreath of flowers in her hair, don't you think?!

Accessorize!

Friday, January 21, 2011

Things are really starting to come together and I have made a few big decisions regarding my attire! Above you will find my beautiful silk tulle garter, my gorgeous shoes (can't wait to be 5'5"!), the pretty bouquet I hope to carry, my ring, and the headband I picked out to wear at our reception! What do you think?!

A Few of My Favoite Things {Hair Accessories}

Tuesday, January 4, 2011

Hair accessories are all the rage these days, which has me thinking about what I'm going to put in my hair once the veil comes off at the reception. I've found the options to be almost overwhelming! In some ways Etsy makes my life easier and in some ways it makes my life so much harder! I've been sorting through some of my favorites and I'd love to share them with you.

There are flower clips:

There are feather clips (think Carrie Bradshaw in the Sex and the City movie):

There are rhinestone/crystal/pearl embellished combs:

And there are headbands (as seen on Taylor Swift):

I especially love double and triple headbands!

How in the world am I going to choose? Any favorites?

For you girls who like to DIY, check out my cousin Michelle's blog (The Real Life Mom) to see the hair accessory she made to wear on New Year's Eve. It cost her $1.50 and she wore it well, don't you think!?!?

Or, if you're looking to make one of the flowers on your own (to wear in your hair or use as a pin), check out my friend Jenny's blog (Jenny Bevlin) to find out how!!!

They make it look so easy!!! I haven't had the nerve to try it yet :)

So tell me, how will you be accessorizing your hair on your big day?

A Few of My Favoite Things {Flowers}

Monday, January 3, 2011

I have flowers on my brain so today I am going to share some of my favorites with you!

{Scabiosa Pods}

I am obsessed with this little round bloom! Also known as the "pincushion flower", scabiosa are in season throughout the spring and summer months! That is good news for me!

Alone, they are not so cute...but check them out in this beautiful bouquet!!!

{Anemones}

Anemones are my absolute favorite! They come in all colors and just look so happy! Sadly, they are in season in the spring and winter...not so much in summer. Good news though, I will have (a few bunches) of these babies at my August wedding because they are one of the few things I am willing to totally splurge on! You can get any flower you want in the off-season for the right price.

Check them out in this lovely bouquet!

{English Roses}

There are over 100 species of roses, and these are just my favorite!

They look amazing in ivory in this bouquet!

So tell me, what is YOUR favorite flower and did you (or will you be) incorporating it into your wedding decor?

This Is THE Year!

Saturday, January 1, 2011

My 2010 ended with a bang, literally! I was in a car accident last night. My car doesn't look so hot but I am fine. My car must be invisible on the road because people always seem to hit me and say "I didn't even see you". Hmmm...

I am very happy that it's a NEW year and I can now officially say:

I AM GETTING MARRIED THIS YEAR!!

Very exciting!!!

Wishing all of my readers a happy and healthy 2011.
