Crafty Girls...Help Me Out!

Monday, December 13, 2010

I was looking through the photos on my computer tonight and came across a picture of some wedding programs that I love. Sadly, I cannot remember the source of this photo. If anyone knows where it came from I would love to know so I can give the site credit.

I am posting it tonight to ask all you crafty girls out there for some help. I want to DIY these programs. I think it is totally possible but I just don't know where to start. If anyone can give me some of the specifics on what type of paper was used for the cover (it has a jagged edge), where I can find those cute little gold frames used around the picture, etc. I would greatly appreciate it. Do you guys think it is possible for me to make 100 of these?

  1. I made ours...They weren't as pretty as this though :) What I did was just made a word document in the dimensions that I wanted the program ( I think 8 x 8) and then printed it at kinkos. They even punched the holes for me. For the front and back covers I just used card stock. Then I rounded up some friends and we tied the ribbons through the holes. I think you could easily get the insides printed and then make the covers yourself. Maybe even bring the covers to the print shop and have them punch the holes so you are sure they are all even :)

  2. I think it is completely possible to make these! For the paper I would suggest checking out Neenah Paper They have all different types, textures and colors of paper. They will also send you free samples before you order so you will know exactly what you are ordering. You should be able to obtain the jagged edge by wetting the paper a little and tearing it (I've used this technique before). I'm pretty sure I've seen the gold frames in the scrap booking section of Michaels. If you need any help, let me know :)
